Charlize Nhung Nguyễn is a Vietnamese-born Canadian artist whose work focuses on the relationship between design object and its medium. With a background in Architecture and Goldsmithing, she often works at the intersection of contemporary design and craft theory. In her most recent work, she expands her material exploration and techniques to reference the human body as a journey. In addition, Charlize holds a BFA from OCAD University. Her 2018 exhibition, Exodus: The Boat and I, had won awards and scholarships including; OCAD University’s Medal, the Carol Rapp Contemporary Jewellery Award and a scholarship of Artist-In-Residence at the Craft and Design studio of Harbourfront Center. Her work has won competition, commissions and exhibited in Canada, the United States, Romania, and Spain.
