A major theme of Charlize Nhung’s works examined the journey of The Vietnamese Boat People, an Asian diasporic, experienced and seen through an Artist’s perspective. The research takes on an experimental process paired with secondary resources from academic literature, archive, journal, reports, and multimedia. All to compose a cohesive story that speaks to the complexity of displacement and adaptation a Vietnamese refugee often faced through a fragmented view. This is an ongoing theme in many projects for the artist.
